- Flower garden
We have been growing our own cut flowers since the fall of 2021. In raised beds on an area of about 120 square meters grows a colorful mix of perennials, shrubs, trees and annual flowers. In this way we would like to cover more and more of our needs for fresh flowers ourselves and thus improve our world a bit more. We do not use pesticides, fertilize exclusively with organic fertilizer and can thus work in the cycle of nature. More about the Cut flower garden
- Kräutergarten
A versatile herb bed has been created between our apple trees, hidden in our flower garden. We plant herbs there that we use in our kitchen.
- Fruit trees
In 2016, we planted 15 apple trees in cooperation with our friend fruit juice pressing houses van Nahmen from Hamminkeln. Each tree is a different variety, so we have a colorful variety of flavors and can harvest something at different times. In 2022, we created another meadow orchard where we planted 5 quince, 10 apple, 3 plum and 9 pear trees in collaboration with van Nahmen.
- Bees at the Voshövel
Since spring 2023 there are some bee colonies from a beekeeper friend from Hamminkeln at the flower meadow at the Voshövel. Embedded between numerous flowers, woods and meadows - the busy little bees fly back and forth and produce up to 60 kg of honey per year. The honey is harvested twice a year. From now on, our cooks use this honey in the kitchen and you will find it on the daily breakfast buffet, depending on availability.
- Insect hotel
In order to ensure the overwintering of many insects and bring us little helpers in the flower garden, we have built a slightly different hotel. It is the perfect place for the little inhabitants - countless perennials, shrubs and trees and an orientation to the south, because insects like it warm, as is well known.
